great news sarah now don't lose them again and yes dan ive had over 25 years on the bloody vw lol so not much i can't do on them just the body gives up now but will see if she starts again later see if i can use the clutch pedal and move it back and forth

Well frankie day van is all better went and got a new alternator in the end so ?150 lighter and a hr's work with back brace and leg all supported she all fixed now time for the big base speaker and amp next ...... Oh and the bloke that was sorting the old alternator has just called he's finished the old one so come and collect it (reason for taking so bloody long he wanted to put a better one in rather than the normal one ) :/ why when all he had to do was sort it fix it by replacing the broken bit EASY ? why try and make it any better ? oh well now have a spare

Add a nice comfy sofa, a kettle, a heater, and you will be sorted. Mind you it would be tempting to widen our patio doors and park the car in the dining room.
Its certainly nice to work in comfort on the car. The winter is the ideal time to work on the car as its not needed as much, but it's soo cold. I took the heads off in icy conditions with the garage door open, it hurts a tad when the spanner slips and your hand wacks something hard. So it would make sense to work on the cars in the summer, but then they are always in use. Need to find a happy balance.

Unfortunately it didn't fit with the new base, so I'll be ordering a 4" tall filter element, then I can use the whole new air cleaner
