You wouldn't believe it so I took photos.
Worked on the Camaro. Needed to get the rear control arm off, started to attempt thuds along time ago. The bolt stuck fast in a metal sleeve that spins on rubber.

Cut the control arm in two, give a little more movement so I can get a disc in yo cut the bolt.

This done the trick. Control arm out, and all looks clean and no damage from cutting.

You can see the bolt still stuck in there.

A job for another day is to get the other end off, may need to do the same again. The bolt is soaking in plus gas.

Must on been a full moon or on a promise for you to work on the camaro lol. Keep up the good work lol

Gave the 3rd rusty bolt that hold the trailing arms on a shot tonight. 4ft long breaker bar on it, would be happy if it moved or snapped. It actually moved, its been soaking in plug gas for a few days.

However the other side (4th and last bolt) didn't want to play ball, got the nut off. But the bolt is risted insite the metal tube that is surrounded in rubber. Got many good wacks with the mallet and it dosn't want to budge. Its got more plus gas on it now, will try more wacks another day. Possibly result in cutting it off.

Might have to heat it up??

Gave it some heat, could smell the rubber getting warm. Really I want the sleve to expand and not the bolt, but perhaps the heat will losen some rust bonds.

Gave it some wacks on the nut, it did move a little bit. Also while it was still watm, got a fork on the other side this pulled it through by a few threads.

Less threads showing now than yesterday.

Possibly repeating the process will get it even further. Once I have run out of travel on the fork it will be hard to get any leverage on the bolt. May only need 1 cut by then.

A little more penetration fliud added, I'll come back to this later.

Dosnt matter if you burn the rubber Bush out putting new in anyway keep up the bad work lol

Shock horrow bit more work done lol

Put £10 if fuel in the Camaro. So I know it has fuel now. Next is to check electrics, was some bad earth's. Can't hear pump, and no fuel in the fuel rails. Maybe a job sometime this week. Battery on charge.

What's that in today's money 1/2 a gallon lol..

Hi guys. Sorry, long time no post again! Although, this thread looks to have been quite quiet. Hope everyone's OK? I have been a bit bogged down with loads of non vehicle stuff lately, including long covid related health issues and a job change. But I have actually done a bit to the Firebird! Last year before I covered it up, it was smoking quite a lot and running really rough. I changed the valve stem oil seals which didn't help much, then I rebuilt the carb. Where I left off it needed the tank emptying and fresh fuel put through. I did that a few weeks ago. The fuel was dark brown! After that it started straight up and the smoking has almost completely stopped. Having set up the Holley it runs much OK now too. Just needs a tweak of the accelerator pump I think. I have ordered a new windscreen rubber from Rock and am going to get it ready for MOT then back on the road. The paint looks much better in this picture than it is sadly. Sitting in my damp garage in primer for ages didn't help. I still need to spray some of the rear end too.

well done will, keep the good work up and keep posting,

After finding a fuel leak, I've put a longer hose on and then taken off the fuel pump. With the Bank Holiday, will have to wait an extra day for delivery of a new one.
