Purchased a 1983 Pontic Firebird TransAm

On both mine the FPR is drivers side,,,I did suspect it would have the RED dash lights,,,very cool

Side by side in their house. If they can talk I wonder what they will talk about tonight.

Done more relay checking last night. I believe the relays are operating as they should. Still more checks to do before deciding on changing the pump.

PO15 in white has arrived along with the LSD additive. I should able to get the other oils from the local motorfactors.

i like POR15 its lasted well on the ranchero. not used the other stuff

got some gas strut things off eBay. Under £15 for a pair https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/172222019356thought that was pretty good.

Popped one on already. I'll get the other one on this evening.

Checked under the passenger seat, no paperwork found. I hadn't checked the driver's seat.

Bonnet stays up without wood now.

Had a little tinker after the show today.
The seatbelt wouldn't retract

The spring had popped off. Removed it, was 2 x 13mm head bolts.

All back together and working great again now.

Emailed some parts places about parts, getting things together.
I do need to treat some of the rust, it's very light, but good to keep on top of it. So got some brushes. I'll clean up the axle and paint it in POR15 black.

Started to disconnect things to lower the rear axle, shocks disconnected, even one of the trailing arms so I could remove the calipers of this stuck one. I should get more time on it tomorrow.
Reason for lowering the axle is to get the fuel tank out. Also to take off any bits along the way to scrub up and treat.

Axle loer now, springs are out. Disconnected the brake line as it wasn't long enough for the axle to be on the floor.

Certainly some rusty parts to brish up and paint. I will probably just get new strings.
