Garage Plans

sure dan can cook for himself bet he has to alot lol,,,

Its been getting a tad warm in the garage. Its fine if you just walk in and walk back out, but if you are working in there its not too nice on a sunny day. The roof is dark and 49m2 so quite a bit of solar heat. I dont have roof insulation yet, which will help. Want to check for leaks before making a nice ceiling.
So I invested in a mobile air con unit. For this to work really needed to vent the heat outside, so brought a 6 inch core drill

And drilled a hole.

insulated the hole with a pipe.

Its also a de-humidifier and heater or a fan too.

When not using itm It has a plug for the hole

Starting to put some loft insulation in the garage. It gets rather warm in there, mainly conducted heat from the sun, dark fiberglass roof through 18mm sterling boad.

Measured the temperature on the sterling board measures between 48 and 52 degrees C today. Measuring the insulation it was only 36 degrees. So once the plasterboard is up it will keep alot of the heat out, and also keeping the warm in in the winter.

Great to see some frost on the roof of the garage. You can make out where I have stuffed insulaton in the ceiling, a strip along the edge nearest to the camera. I do plan to do it all one day. Builders yards still deliver during lock down. Possibly something I should complete before getting dug into the camaro.

Recon 3 bridges should come and collect it or Sussex recovery lol

Popped to the timber yard to get 60meters of 1x2inch. It came in 4.2m lengths, cut it to 2.4m&1.8m to fit it in the car. Trans am comes in useful for things like that, 2.4m fits in there easily. The reason for the wood is to prepare the ceiling area fir the plaster board, it give something fit the plasterboard to screw to.

While the trans am was out wanted to finally add them sockets down that side cable already there.

Comes in useful for plugging in the charger.

Handy hints No 22.....Cruise 2020 hand outs when balled up will add some insulation to the roof.

Lol, I have 2000 of them and 1000 show flyers. Atleast I didn't buy trophies.

Handy nints No23.....White tape and a marker pen can save flyers for next year.

You not put cables in any oval conduit or tube . You Got RCBO"s for each cct or rcb on on board in garage or RCB from house to protect garage???

Pushed the Camaro out and back in yesterday while working on the garage ceiling.
Added in some 1x2 batterns around the edges to support the plasterboard. Also upgraded some supports for the roof as original wooden wedges had shrunk.
Added some screws to hold string to support the insulation before the plasterboard goes up.

Just think, if you had fixed it you could have driven it in & out!!
😛
Yeah true. It won't be long. Its tough to push it back in on my own even with the tyres pumped up hard.
