Well I replaced the abs sensor a few weeks back was ok then dash board light kept coming on then off now it's on all the time finally had chance to have alook don't know if you can see the abs reluctor ring but it's split about 4pm location by drive shaft. Great another job. Got the brakes and pads now just ordered the the ring and new drive shaft nut waiting on drop links and bump stop dust covers then the fun can start.

Wow, good luck replacing that. Could you get a hub assembly from a scrap yard?

No local scrap yards. Have ordered the abs ring and new lock nut for drive shaft. Undo all the lower arms pull the drum brake hub away from drive shaft then access to abs ring.

Well that went better than expected so far now just waiting on delivery
It all came apart nice and easy . You can see abs ring is split they say you have to heat the new one up to put it on drive shaft any body done that ?

You have been busy. A job that oulf have been alot more difficult. How was the test drive? does the new ring work okay?

New ring and new locking nut turned up at 15.30 yesterday. Was thinking due to the amount of rust on the abs sensor and in the back of the hub and how bad the rust is on the drive shaft that the rust might be the corse of ring splitting ? So have wire brushed the hub cleaned sensor and the rusty bumps have failed down so ring can go back on easier might be worse me putting rust treatment on drive shaft and hub if my theory is right the rust expended the ring and cracked it. So will put some rust treatment on let it cure then heat ring up then fit ring then put back together found my welding gloves has ring is going to be hot Wen it fits it.

I done that on my diff a while back a larger ring went around the whole diff. Heating it up, trying to get it located in the right place and not slip off the other side.

put some rust neutralizer on tonight around the inner part of hub and around the outer part on drive shaft the wlet it do its work then one more clean with emery cloth to remove any remaining rust the yes july02rs was thinking same use blow touch to heat ring up found my welding gloves to put on shaft with hopefully it goes on straight and hits the stop then i can refit everything else
