A rare, stunning Burt Reynolds Bandit Trans Am, with full movie car spec. In 1977 there were two blockbusters, Star Wars and Smokey and the Bandit. The car star was GM s new Pontiac Trans Am firebird, becoming an iconic movie car (and recently used by Calvin Harris in his Summer music video). 4 cars were used to film the 1st movie, (actually 76 models with the new front end added), 3 with 6.6lt and the jump car with a 7.4lt Chevy engine. Bandit 2 came in 79. This car has the Bandit spec, representing a stunning, usable, reliable V8 big block muscle car.
Outside
Beautiful Starlight Black recent respray (so any minor imperfections sorted) with Bandit Trans Am gold decals, badges, pinstripes and the big bonnet firebird.
A 1979 Trans Am with the all important smoked Fisher T-tops which can easily be removed for open air motoring and stored in their new covers.
Shaker hood and scoop, front and rear spoilers, wheel flare spats, side vents, front fog lights and those unmistakable large 2 bore dual twin down pipe exhausts.
US style tin plates marked Georgia with confederate flag (have standard plates also).
Fully refurbished original 15 special edition Snowflake gold alloy wheels all with recent big tyres and Trans Am centres.
Finishing touches include the Bandit magnetic CB roof aerial and Burt s one-of-a-kind movie car door Bandit decal (both removable)!
Also comes with spare black rear 77 lights (Bandit I) if you prefer them to the smoked ones currently on (just my preference per Bandit II).
Engine
This car has the awesome 454cu 7.44lt V8 big block Chevy engine with 4 barrel carb, as used for the bridge jump in the movie for more power than the standard 6.6lt. (Trans Ams came with Pontiac, Chevrolet or Oldsmobile engines, the bigger Chevy s like this one are sought after).
Also the 400 automatic gearbox with TA shifter, recent tubular front arm suspension package, electronic distributor, new power steering pump, water pump and fuel pump, lots of new brake parts and recent large bore exhausts and twin tail pipes. All been well maintained and recent service, clean underneath, sounds great, runs strong and true.
Inside
Black interior with the usual brushed metal effect dash and TA Formula steering wheel, recent carpets and headliner, factory electric windows, newly covered front high back Trans Am seats with 3-point seat belts and rear lap belts.
New boot liner and 2 new Ttop cover/storage bags. Centre dash blanks ready to install your desired stereo and CB radio.
Papers
V5 log book and MOT to June 2016 ready to go, orig car owners manual, spare keys, cheap insurance, plus a large Bandit car show card for displaying the car (expect lots of interest, crowds and photos if you show this car, or just stop to fill up!).
This is a rare, iconic, classic movie big block muscle car, good investment, fun to drive, reliable and usable, great with the open Ttops. GM Pontiac Trans Am parts are cheap and easy to order and fit.
Looks like a very nice car though.

Defniately not a real one used in the filming - they were all destroyed.
The engine is a swap, no 2nd Gen Firebirds came with the big block chevy motor.

I was thinking of Knight Rider
