Banks closing what a PITA

Yep too right. I need to pop in to a branch, as the automated help is pants, can't speak to someone.
Have a joint account with no log in details used to know how much was in there due to statements. They switched to paperless. What use is that for an account with no login....

Not great to have paperless when everyone else wants to see paper bills and bank statements for identification purposes. It's a crazy world!
 
Banking hubs any body use one yet??
As more and more banks closing but when their system goes down it's crazy cash is king
You use their phone banking you get someone that has a strong a Sent or bad English. Make it very hard to sort any problems out
 
I'd not been in a bank for a few years and was virtually forced to go to Barclays in Commercial Road. It was hardly recognisable as a bank, with a security guard on the door and one cashier. I ended up seeing three people just to transfer some money. They seem to want to force the App on everyone. One old lady with a walking frame was being shown how to use a machine and said on the way out that she had walked round the whole branch while she was there. Another old guy with a walking stick had been summonds in and was waiting in a long queue to be triaged. Hardly great customer service!
 
Agree, not very good these days.
I needed to log into my bank on the computer the other day to check something. It demanded me to use the app on my phone to get me to log in. So it seems even with a computer knowing my pin and password, you still need a phone to log in. I hate all this dependancy on a phone. Something that can be lost or stolen, I do not want to depend on having a phone to log into my bank account.,

I'm with you, I only log in to the bank on my home computer. I don't trust apps, but it seems all the companies want you to have one. With all the troubles in the world, you can bet there will be more hacks such as the ones on M&S and Co-op.
 
Call me a 'Luddite' but I don't have a 'Smart phone'. I don't do Internet banking either. My nearest Barclays is Fareham which I don't mind because it is a nice drive from Denmead. If That closes I'll have to go to Commercial road. If I need to speak with a human there is a 3 days a week office in Waterlooville community center which has dealt with simple problems in the past.

I don't have a Smart phone either. I went to the bank desk in the Library in Havant. The door was left open so that anyone in the vacinity could hear the conversation, as I did of the person before me. They took several pictures of my id but were then unable to upload them to the branch. They were not allowed to photocopy and take the paper copies to the branch and insisted that I needed to go to the branch the following day, which was very inconvenient. More of a hinerence than a help.
 
the banks are making it harder and harder forcing us to go on line

what happens when chris cant drive anymore or you are disabled and unable to use a computer , its effecting local villages and small towns , some people must be moving banks due to the level of service they are now getting, and when the banks and building society's systems go down ?? as we do here this on the news, they say you can use local post offices how many of them do we have now and its only limit access, crazy,

It's crazy, we have no banks near and a lady of 91 had cheques bounced because her signature had changed. All they kept saying was can't you bring her to the bank! They have no idea of the disruption bank closures have caused. Things that took minutes now take days to sort.
