Purchased a 1983 Pontic Firebird TransAm

Fuel pipe ordered, 6mm, 8mm and 10mm. Measured my pipes with calipers, to verify before buying. Only need around 20cm of each to bride that gap between the metal pipes. Its how it was done standard, so I'm keeping it that way. The rubber pipes advertise E10 safe.
Also ordered some u-joints, different sizes. Some hold the exuast on, some for the anti roll bar, as would be nice to refresh those, the current ones look weak and could snap when I replace the rubbers. The rubbers have been ordered from rock auto, went for AC Delco ones original type of rubber, not poly. Aiming to keep the ride as it was when it was new from the factory.

Its getting there, most of the Rock auto parts will be arriving Friday, some Monday. I have a car show on Saturday its the Capel one, so I'll prep the 2000 T/A for that, also Southsea cruise on Sunday. Wont be getting a huge amount of time on the '83, Just doing it bit by bit.

Only think holding the axle on now it 1 lower control arm, the torque arm and the u-joints on the drive shaft. I think I will completly remove it, brake piping, the anti roll bar and wire brush it in the garden. Get this all looking new.

This restoration process will only be the rear half of the car for now, it seems a ood time to do it while soo many parts are removed for the tank removal. I'll do the front half another time, after an MOT. Perhaps it could be a winter job.

Yeah they are good clamps. Used them on the air intake on the 4th gen. I got a few sizes at the time, so these are spare.

That u-bolts I ordered are just for exhaust hangers. Looks like the rest of the exhaust I can rejoin with 2 new bolts.

Nipped out for an hour to removed the tank straps and get the tank out, with a bit of wiggling it is now out.
