Looking to upgrade brakes on the T/A

The brakes on the TA does have a high grade of pads, new drilled and slotted rotors, braided flexible lines. However the caliper is the same as origin. A single piston part.

With all these other upgrades, and also for looks. I now have 18 inch alloys, and the discs looks smaller.

I have some Willwood parts in the brake system. These brake discs would fill the 18inch wheel. I do need to check for clearence. This is just the front. 6 pistons to put in the larger brake pads. Giving far more braking control.

Rears have an upgrade path too. Not as much braking force on the rear, so these are only 4 piston.

You know me, always liking to upgrade bits.

If I go with this. It's yellow calipers with black writing

Brake discs with calipers are hige. Needed to make sure I had enough room. I have 214mm from center to rim,but does taper towards the spoke of 10mm over a depth of 25mm. This means in places I have 5mm clearance from caliper to wheel.

(I really need to clean the inside of the wheels)

Its great they supply these diagrams,

Many colours can be chosen. Check out this awesome range. https://www.wilwood.com/Calipers/ColorSelect?id=28

I have heard back from Wilwood, they are working on a shiping quote. :)

The total for parts, the custom color, and the international bank transfer fee is $6374.08 USD. Shipping is quoted as $1610.95, plus $44.62 for insurance. The total comes to $8029.65.

They said the shipping is for two boxes two boxes about 14” x14” x 14” weighing 63lbs and 51lbs. They said I can shop around to shipping and get the shipper to collect. I tried FexEx economy at that was $1770

So cheapest shipping the one they mentioned at $1610.

$8029 total, Translates to £6014.30 plus VAT. Which is another £1200 on top. £7200, that's almost £2k per wheel.

That money could be put to better use ?
You know what's coming Dan

That money and time you could spend on swmnbo car or even buy her another American car for that money and one that would be road legal and usable .well you have brought her a car before .....

Yep I'm going for it. Money movement has started.
Will take 4 weeks for the custom colour. Then a 1 week delivery. Only a day to fit, turn bed them in. Should be done for wheels day.

He could have bought my 92 RS and still have change for a meal out
Yeah when you put it like that. I could buy a car for the amount I'm putting into the car and not increasing the value.

Bit like you buying all them tools for swmnbo car and not used them yet

Funny you should say that. I'm going to renew the metal lines on the TA. Ordered 3/16th Cupro Nickel Kunifer Brake Pipe tonight. This will use my new tool. I can practise on mine before doing the camaro. My pipes went too bad, but rather fit all new. Only the master cylinder isn't changing in that brake system. ABS in the shed, it can stay there. I must get some brake fluid ready.
