Never had one before. Could come in useful.
I think the first think I will use it on is the rear end. My two half shafts are held in with c-clips. There are bearing but not conical, so there is nothing stopping that half shaft fromt sliding right out apart from the c-clip and brake calipers.
Over the years these c-clips gets worn. 2mm of play is normal, nearer 4-5mm action need taking.
I have around 20k miles I guess on the axle since rebuild. I just got this tool to verify movement amounts.
To get a measurement, its just a case of removing the rear wheels and brake pads, attach this to the axle, and see what movement I get by moving the axle in and out by hand.
All good fun. Another thing to add to the tool chest.
