I have heard that it is legal to ride off road bikes on the road when it is really snowwy, like it is now. I'm not sure if its true or not but if anybody knows if i would be legal to ride my quad on the road then that would be very helpful :) So does this sound true to you? Do you have any info?

If the quad has a number plate and you sre insured to ride it, then you should be okay.
There is a road legal quad bike that I see going around. If the road was closed then I guess any quad bike would be legal, but if there are other people using the road then i would say it would be dodgy.

Hmm. Well some of my friends have seen off road ones riding around. Without number plates etc. So thats why I am confused :s

The law states that if you have a motorised vehicle (that includes any thing that can propel its self) and you use it in an area that has public access it MUST be insured with at least 3rd party cover, and if you use it on a public highway, open or not, it must be taxed, and you must have an appropriate licence. Your friends who ride their off roaders should be careful, if they get caught, it could still be points on licence and a fine. You may remember several years ago that Tot Rods used to be seen lots at car shows, but they had no insurance or licences, and most show organisers then banned them, with the exception of in a specified enclosed area, a bit like dodgems. the same happened with mini motos and powered scooters.

Sorry to be a killjoy, but if you need your licence, then dont!

I know a lovely man that can help you get your licence when you are old enough Jack.
