Totally agree bring it back (y)
Chatting with so many owners at shows that have restored or modified their cars some have driving to event in a non road worthy condition, my be every 2 years for historic cars do a mot ???????? as your insurance states your car must be in a road worthy condition , we all seen non road legal tyres on vehicles at one show the owners horn and wipers didn't work

see article

When mine gets to MOT exempt I'll still get it tested. Price of mind it's all in good working order.

Remember during COVID we had an MOT extension, people were happy as they drove cars not fit for the road with kids in the car.

Europe have tests every 2 years, well Spain does. If we could get results from them, gives us an idea if 2 years work for here.

Didn't bother this year as not used it. However, normally MOT every year for peace of mind. Every two years should be good enough. In Australia there is no annual test and insurance is optional (Or so I was told last time I was there).

Sounds like Bradford. Watched a police documentary many years ago, and they come up with the statistic that 1 in 10 cars in Bradford are insured.

Every couple of years should be fine for MOT's. Done under 2000 miles since the last MOT, tyres are still like new.

I expect you get them drivers that drive and drive even if they hear a whining or clonking noise waiting for something to fall off.

Did they post on all the car forums out to ask their views No,

if car is heavily modified they need to have special safety check done think by VOSA ? then would be Mot every year as its none standard from factory issue as per gov website for mot standards for older cars

also insurance requires car to be in road worthy condition so do the police

as stated in the news article someone people do look after their cars second opinion always good 2nd pair of eye and all that what about the owners of the cars that have no mechanical knowledge car is still driven on the road it could have a defect that the owner is unaware of IE perished rubber brake line for example,
