At many car shows many people are interested in the air box creation. Its a great talking point. I may be talking to someone else at the time, but was tihnking could I have a display board that sits at the front of the car showing photos, and info that would be perfect.
I have seen stands for the ground, but its packing them away into the car. i dont want anytihng large. Its bad nough with cairs and flags. Want something that is compact.
Ther eis a hold under the bonnet that I can hook something on to. Then having a way to hold 3 x A4 sheets would be perfect. I came up with the design below. Clamps in the sheet of laminated pater. The bolts are the same thats used on the airbox. Can attached 3D printed hinges link 3 of them together. They will fold up to the size of just over 1 x A4 sheet and about 2 inches thick.
Very happy with how its come out. There is a staggered join down the middle due to it being greater than 10 inches. The hinges will add strength around the join. It does feel strong as it is, glued it with that black sealent glue I used under the bonnet.

I must get a photo of the back too.

Drew up and printed some hinges to join the multiple board together. This looks to work well. I'll get a photo of how the hinges join later on.
M4x45 hex head bolts and an M4 nyloc nut on the other end. 4 washers for some friction resistance. I like the way the hed heat sits pretty much flush to the edge. There are 3 hinges per side of the display board. Made 4mm thick, this should be more than strong enough. The hinges are reversable too, so all 3 boards will fold in a Z shape.

Going to take 6 hours. In no rush as not written up the information to go on the dislay sheets yet.

All 4 peices ready to assemble, has recesses for the hinges.

Designed to take a laminated A4 sheet of paper.

Hinges hold it together well. Nuts being the nyloc ones are a little to thick. This is causing the panels to not lie flat. I should have recessed the nuts further in the plastic.
I'll fit flat nuts. The screw length is looking good.

The 3rd one is a little different. Wanted something different on the back.

Very happy with how this has come out. A little messy at the bottom where the black glue from joining the two panels together oozed out. This can be picked off once dry.

Designed a hook to hook under the bonnet. Clips in, squeeze to release.

There was already a 10mm hole in the bonnet for it to clip in to. Gave it a good tug and seems support more weight than I need. I also have a back up plan if it becomes loose over time, I made the center able to take a round peg should it ever need more support.

Coming together well. Not added all the bolts but will do once the info pages added. Looking nice, folds up well.
