starting again more bank closers

I read in the paper that a lady received a cheque from HMRC and because it didn't have perforations, she couldn't pay it in via the app! She ended up driving 50 miles to the nearest Lloyds Bank, because the Post Office not longer accept deposits for Lloyds customers. Lloyds said she could have asked HMRC to do a bank transfer, like it was her fault! Not good.

It's about time. And it shows they are getting more customers so other banks are loosing out..

That’s pretty ridiculous, to be honest. You’d think in 2026 there’d be a simple way to deal with a cheque without having to drive 50 miles to a bank. And blaming her for not asking HMRC for a bank transfer doesn’t exactly help either. Not everyone knows what options are available, especially when the system has changed underneath them. I guess like the banks and HMRC need to make this stuff a lot more straightforward.

My mate is with Barclays and he just uploads a pic of the cheque via the app, no need to visit.
