1964 Buick Wildcat Deluxe: Just completed 3180 miles around France and Spain. (Documented on FB) 17995 ONO. the details below. Fitted 1970 date coded 455, Edelbrock torker455 inlet manifold, new Edelbrock 750cfm carburettor, very rare 4 speed manual with Hurst shifter, approx 375 BHP / 510 lb/ft torque, 3.07 axle ratio (3.42 posi rear on its way and included). Saddle interior and switchgear in the sort of condition that supports the 35000 odd miles showing on the odometer. Owned now for about 2.5 years the Buick needed the timing sorted, new starter motor, the clutch replacing and converting to hydraulic release bearing. The brake system was overhauled as a precaution and the rear hub seals were replaced at the same time. Fresh matching tyres all round including spare, fresh dual flowmaster exhaust. New aluminium 4 core radiator and electric twin fans on a thermostatic control. Fresh window seals. 5 new Torque Thrust D"s including an unused one for the spare that"s still in the box, front sway bar drop links, 4 new shocks, a new rear sway bar fitted which has greatly improved stability and cornering. H4 halogen conversi n with 4 high & 4 low. New Heater core and control cables, new speaker in rear seat, dash and kick panels. New HEi Distributor, leads and plugs, oil and filter change. New thermostat and replaced the bling chrome housing with stock Cast item. (The chrome ones tend to leak.) removal of some "Walmart" trim down each side and making good. Passenger side mirror custom made to fit, new chrome door armrests. Various fettling and small jobs done. Drives and stops very well and is very reliable, gobbles up the miles (70 comes up at 2500 rpm) and is in daily use rain or shine and is remarkably economical. Being a manual I get 16/17 mpg without trying. A dry state car from New Mexico v a Nevada. Impco LPG system fitted, at 62p/litre this gives a 28/30 mpg cost equivalent. Also fitted is a "Flash Lube" valve saver kit to give added lubrication to valves. This can all be removed if necessary. Fancying a change, something interesting, Torino, Cougar, Thunderbird 61-65, Alfa GTV6/Spyder, Jaguar series 1 XJ6 or American 1950"s car or truck. Photos are a mixture of our current road trip and back in the UK. Sensible offers considered but don"t insult me. Everything works as it should. Leave your magnifying glass at home.<br />
