Using a MSI GTX 1660 Super X for mining ETH

The 1660 is towards the lower end of the cards, cheaper than the RTX 30xx series. The RTX30xx series has a lot of features like DLSS that you are paying for, but not used in mining.

The 1660 Super can hash at around 31mh @ 78W. This is 414kH/w which is pretty efficient. One of these cars is around £380. At the current ETH vaues and electric price it will take around 10 months to pay for itself. Will there be enough life in ETH to cover it? we can always swap to another coin.

Looking on Sebs youtube channel, he has got 34mh from the same card by upgradng the bios.

So what do we need? We need to grab the latest bios:-
Attached it to this thread as a zip file.

The current Bios version of the card is displayed n GPU-Z

October 29, 2019. The one in the link above should be newer. The cards only arrived yesterday, so shouldn't that have the latest bios?

Need to disable the two cards we want to flash in windows device manager.

As we have more than one card, need to know the ID numbers so we flash the right one.

I can tweak the PL to reduce the power. As its not staying in this PC, I'll tweak that later.
