Used the pit for a friends Mini

The car has a small oil leaks so we wanted to have a good look underneath to tell where it was coming from. The lights in the pit were great, used an inspection lamp too. The oil leak was visible all around the join between the gearbox and engine. Cleaned off what we could and looked higher up on the engine. Eventually looked from the top, and in front of the fuel pump is a cam sensor, looks to be coming from around there.

That’s scary, those wheels are close to the inside edges of the pit! Should have tied a board across its arse to stop it falling in!!!!

my kids mini did that it needed a new gearbox

Apparently it's very common for BMW minis to leak oil, they all leaks from at least one place. There was a chap that sold his mini and was going to through some oil on his drive as he missed seeing the oil patches.
This leak appears to be above the gearbox so will tackle that one first, they may be another leak somewhere too.
