Still do for mine, door locks are different to ignition, not that they have been changed(that I know of, had it since 2 years old). The doors I open with a keyfob anyway, so never use the door key.
Was the same on my '89 firebird. Just guessed it was the norm to have 2 keys.

It was the norm, I think my 02 Vette only had one but i never opened the door with the key anyway, just the fob. I guessed it might have changed for US vehicles early 2000's, at least with GM.
My '79 definately has two keys and no fob!
