Did anyone else int he local area has some power outage issues on Saturday. It was mid afternoon. I was doing some programming on a circuit board, lost power for a split second, caused the computer to reboot. Thinking that would just be the one. I reopened all my applications, debugger etc.. took about 15mins to get set up again. Then the darn power went again for that split second, enough to reboot everything.
So went out to the garage fetched my UPS that has been sitting there unused for a couple of years. Plug that in and carried on programming.
This programming is something I wanted to get done for Monday. Involved talking to a serial flah device using a softcore progessor inside of an FPGA. All good fun, but the reboots really set you back a long way.
UPS now plugged in. I'm safe now. Well the darn power blipped again, the UPS didn't hold it, probably very old batteries in the UPS.
Its not often we get power issues, there are certain aeras with no power at all, so atleast we had power.
Probably not much point changing the batteries in the UPS. I dont know, see how often the power outages are. I could always devlop on the laptop.
Its like having those candles in the kitchen cupboard waiting for a power outage. I remember that when I was a kid in denmead.
