2022 Corvette Z06

No idea how accurate, but I have to say I don’t like it.


The new Corvette Z06 is expected to arrive as a 2022 model, with a price of $85,000.

It will feature, a naturally aspirated DOHC32-valve 5.5 liter V-8, with a flat-plane crank, like a Ferrari. It should rev up to 9,000 rpm and produce over 600 hp.

It will be, basically, a muscled-up version of the base C8, with wider tires (and fender flares), stronger brakes, a recalibrated suspension, upgraded powertrain cooling and "active aerodynamics."

DOHC32-valve 5.5 liter, sounds like a move away from LT or LT series, with 32 valves it sounds more like a Merc engine with VVT.

Its starting to look more McLaren looking. Which are also nice cars. If you are buying American then you want it to look American. The C06 with the headlight cover (no longer pop up lights) it started to look European.

They want America’s only real sports car to compete in the European market I guess?
If you want a modern American sports car you either buy the new Camaro or new Mustang.
If you want modern American muscle you buy the Challenger.
If you want modern American family you buy Cadillac CTS or Charger.
Don’t ask me about SUV’s - I know nothing about them!!

In my opinion it looks no different to any other modern sports car. I don't really like it either.

Remember the LT5 as fitted to the 90’s ZR1 was a Mercury Marine developed 32valve DOHC V8 IIRC
