Your car history

Can you list every car that you've owned over the years? I'm looking for your complete car history here. Also, any common trends or themes you have noticed in the cars you have owned?

Here's my list, starting with my first car....

1987 Toyota Starlet 1.0 GL
1987 Honda Integra 1.5 DX
1993 Alfa Romeo 164 2.0 Twin Spark
1993 Saturn SC2 1.9
1992 Saturn SL2 1.9
1988 Pontiac Bonneville 3.8 SSE
1999 Alfa Romeo 146 1.6 Twin Spark
2000 Skoda Fabia 1.4 16v Elegance
1993 Volkswagen Golf 2.0 GTI 8v
1992 Volkswagen Polo 1.0 CL
1997 Saab 900 2.0 Turbo convertible
1973 Rover P6 3500S 3.5 V8
1992 Pontiac Bonneville 3.8 SSEI

All were daily drivers except the Saab and the Rover which I owned at the same time as my Polo and bought for short-term ownership. Trends in my list.... No French cars, no diesels, and nothing newer than 2000! Also 5 are GM products (including the Saab), 3 are VW Group. I haven't yet owned a Ford product, but I am open to the idea.

Cars:

1986 MG Montego
1983 Ford Sierra 1.6L
1984 Ford Granada 2.3GL
1974 Pontiac Firebird 4.1L
1978 Pontiac Firebird 6.6L
1997 Pontiac Trans Am
2002 Chevrolet Corvette Z06
1979 Pontiac Trans Am 10th anniversary
1996 Vauxhall Astra
2002 Ford Mondeo
2007 Chevrolet Lacetti

Bikes:

1983 Simson 50cc
1978 Yamaha RD50
1983 Suzuki GSX 400
1985 Suzuki RG250 Gamma
1993 Yamaha RD350 F2

No French, German or Japanese, and I wouldn't want one. Plenty of GM. The Granada is the only Ford I miss.
I miss the Corvette the most of all the GM products.
The RG250 & RD350 would both be worth a lot more than I paid now!

Interesting thread. Some people have had many cars.

MK1 Cavalier KWL 117W, first car after passing my driving test given to me by my granddad.Owned for about 3 months
Opel Manta B669 RPR, brough as a spares car to keep the Cavalier going, turned out to be a better car, so get it back on the road owned for about 3 months.
1989 Pontiac Firebird F522 VVC, owned for about 7 years.
2000 Pontiac Trans Am, V28 DAN, brought in 2002, and still have it now, had the '89 Firebird at the same time for about 1 year.
1995 Ford Fiesta N836 ODW, brought as I needed to get around car, the Axel just popped on the Trans-Am, so had to find a car that day. This car got delivered to the house, so was ideal. Owned this for about 4 years.
2015 Kia Picanto SR7, SB65 PCB, brought on Wednesday, as the Fiesta kept having small issues (It was a 20 year old ford, so surprised it done as well as it did).

My aim was to stick with GM, the Cavalier, Opel and Pontiac were all GM, I broke the trend as desperately needed a car, so went to the dark side and had a Ford. The reliability(lack of) of the Ford got me to buy a cheap run about Kia, new with warranty, so I know it will be hassle free for many years.

I'm pretty sure from my list you'll see what I like!
Starting with my first car:

74 M Ford Capri 1.6L (early mk2) still got this one.
84 B Ford Fiesta 1.3 Ghia
90 H Ford Orion 1.4GLX
91 J Volvo 340 1.7GL
79 Volvo 244 2.1DL
95 N Ford Transit 120 2.5 diesel short wheel base standard low roof
87 E Volvo 740 2.3GLE auto saloon
91 J BMW 316i
95 M Volvo 850 2.5GLE auto estate
85 C Ford Granada 2.8 Ghia X auto estate (very late mk2) still got this one.
99 V Ford Transit 2.5 190 diesel long wheel base semi high roof
84 B Ford Transit 2.0 (petrol) 100L long wheel base high roof. Still got this one too!
73 L Mercury Marquis Brougham 429ci (7.0) still got this aswell!

Company vehicles but not owned by me:

98 R Ford Transit 190 turbo diesel long wheel base semi high roof
03 53 Vauxhall Corsa van 1.3tdi this thing was vile and eventually set itself on fire and was written off!
05 55 Vauxhall Combo 1.7tdi
07 57 Ford Transit Connect
02 52 Ford Transit 2.4tdci long wheel base high roof
10 60 Mercedes Sprinter 313 diesel long wheel base high roof. Current van for work (due to changed for new version of the same very soon)

There's probably a few others I've forgotten too.
As a rule I like Fords and Volvo's. GM stuff only interests me if it's American or old (pre 90's).
I don't like French or German stuff and generally only really interested in old cars. Although some moderns are of interest like Mustangs and Crown Vic's!
I also don't like front wheel drive stuff.
I tend to keep things I like long term.

I didn't include company cars I've had.

1989 Ford Sierra estate
1988 Ford XR3i cab
1990 VW Scirocco
1993 Rover 416
1995 Volvo something or other
1998 VW Golf 1.6 mk4

1979 twr mazda montrose

Now there's an interesting one! Also known as the first generation Mazda 626 - Montrose was the UK market name. The Mazda Montrose must be virtually extinct now. Would be interested to know more... What was the TWR involvement?

Some interesting lists here guys! Interesting to see how many of you took the leap straight from quite commonplace European Fords and Vauxhalls into American cars. More than one other ex-veedubber on here too! My VWs were good solid cars, but the Golf GTI I had was a dull as ditchwater to drive considering it was supposedly a hot hatch. My Polo 1.0 litre with its 4-speed manual gearbox was more fun!

performance wise it had a quickshift and larger wheels, stiffer springs and was bright orange with green and yellow stripe with TWR on the 1/4 panel at the end of the stripe

Yes, German engine but the rest built here IIRC?

All mk2 Granada's were built in Cologne. Originally mk1 Granny's were built both here in the UK and Cologne, after 1976 full production moved to Cologne only. Europe also got certain engines we didn't and they also got a very nice looking 2 door saloon version (not the coupe version!) that we didn't in both mk1 and mk2 versions.
