I've covered my ordinary car from Jan to whenever i need to, then when i get a Mustang (set for June) I just stop the payg mid-yearly - (doesnt matter when) and get the necessary American car policy for the Mustang.
It is ?10 a month more just for the ordinary car - but shouldn't need it for long, and it includes breakdown.
