That's like people buying a house next to an airport runway and complaining about the noise. The noise was there before the house was built so surely they can't complain, but somehow they do.

It’s not unusual. Quite close to here there used to be a 50mph. New to the area residents said it was too noisy and campaigned to have the speed limit lowered. They succeeded. Now it’s a 40mph despite having a low accident record and a stretch of road 1.5miles long is now a bottleneck with impatient chancers doing dangerous overtakes. My guess is that one of those will cause an accident and then they will change it to 30mph.
