I was running on Monday and was running towards an old dude coming towards me on a mobility scooter so I moved over to the other side of the pavement and he did the same thing. I then moved over again and he did the same. So I decided to sprint past him and heard him say "bloody runners". I shouted back over my shoulder at him "bloody scooters should be on the road!". I didn't wait around for a response
We had one in the newspaper, an elderly man wanted to get from Portsmouth to Hayling island in his mobility scooter, He was on the A27 in the 3rd lane(4 lanes at that point as two lanes split to go to havant, left two lanes split to become the A3) lorry's going past him, cars going 70ish, it was dangerous the police done a rolling road block to remove him.
When they are on the path they think they own that too. I used to be good at high jump and long jump, if I was running and a mobility scooter was aiming for me it would be a good challenge to jump it. You may end up clipping them, which reminded me of this video:-

hi
there is one of those not too far from where i live though not exactly a bike more a reliant robin on steroids! incredibly quick though! not for me personally i prefer two wheels each to his own and the only legal way you can ride without a helmet except for motorbike and sidecar not me either!! i have seen something similar but more like a trike,ie one in front two at back which was adapted so that a wheelchair would fit in the back so cool!! it meant that the rider, who was injured when he had a serious accident on his bike, was able to get back in the saddle so to speak great guy!! spoke at length to him oh must have been 4 or five yrs ago now but i have never forgotten him very very nice bloke and so detirmined not to let his injuries get the better of him.
