JEEP CHEROKEE 2.8CRD LIMITED AUTO KJ SERIES

Good luck with the sale.

Update, I have a post on the go reference the rear diff and axle, if you read it you can see I was not prepared to sell the Jeep with a dodgy diff, so after a long saga it has had a very good rear axle fitted with a diff that has all its teeth !!!! That cost £480-00 so yes the Jeep is now all sorted and will do some one proud for a good few years, its for sale, and open to sensible offers, I due to my recent health scare, yes another one, have bought myself a BMW X5 3.0D which has cost a small fortune to get up together and running like I want it to, so as I have asked on the other post what do you people think its worth? there are a few on E Bay for what I would consider silly money, almost twice what I am prepared to take, for a vehicle that does not even need a service until this time next year !! the MOT expires in November this year, if anyone wanted I will MOT it for a year, over to you...............

Update, the Jeep has sold, I was approached by a person that had seen the Axle being changed 3 times, he was looking for a Jeep and asked what to look for, anyhow we got talking, he wanted to see all the receipts which I showed him, he was genuinely interested and made an offer, as long as I put a years MOT on it, which I thought reasonable, well at the MOT we had a saga with the hand brake, it locked up the wheels on the rolling road but had no reserve travel, finding no adjustment on the cables we took to You Tube to find out how to adjust it, found out there was a peculiar ratchet assembly within the lever, did what the video suggested and one adjusted hand brake, they also advised play in the rear wheel bearings, but that was the permitted play in and out due to the horseshoe pieces that hold the half shafts in, the MOT tester learnt something !!! So the saga is over......................................................................I hope and NO I did not get back what I have spent, BUT very close!!!

It certainly was an adventure, I cant blame the way the Jeep was made, proof of it cant be that bad is its still around!! Its obvious that the rear axle just was not up to the job, talking to a local Gearbox and Axle specialist his comment was when they were new he made a lot of money rebuilding axles that were just not up to the job, would I buy another...............................................................NO the modern ones are a parts bin special, mainly due to their policy of using locally sourced engines for the diesels

Great to hear that you sold it.

Wrexham Premier inn on our first 1000 mile outing, ok so its a BWM 3.0D Auto on a Jeep site, for that I apologise but after the poo the Jeep gave me perhaps you will forgive the one picture.
