I live in Chorley, Lancashire and I have joined the forum as a complete classic car novice. I really want to learn more about classic American cars mainly because I'd like to buy one as an addition to my business.
I live pretty much a vintage life already - For a number of years I've been doing vintage hairstyling and makeovers on photo shoots, at events and for weddings.
I've just been hairstyling at Americana International this July but unfortunately was working the whole weekend and didn't get the chance to have a proper look at the cars :eek:hwell:
I think it would be a good idea to visit some car shows to get an idea of what it is I want - will a classic American car even fit in my drive!?
If you can point me in the right direction i.e. up and coming car shows, or anything helpful for a novice, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you in advance

Hi, Welcome to the forum.
There are soo many classic american cars to choose from. What one takes your fancy? You mentioned weddings, something like a late 50's Chevy Bel-Air would be nice. They are quire long, width width, not much different to a Mondeo. Really you could do with keeping it under cover, or better still in a garage.
Some other cars like a 60's Chevy Camaro are not that huge, no bigger than a family UK car. Think many cars are smaller than the monster mini car they still seems to call a mini, but anyway, we wont go into that one.

We have many car shows advertised on the forum, however many are down south. there could be some up in your area. I think if you could get a copy of Classic American magazine, there is some great write ups about vehicles in there to get the taste-buds tingling, and also the list car shows too, some may be more local to you.

Many thanks for your advice. I'll definitely have a look at the classic car magazine you recommended. I've got my eye on a couple of cars at the moment so watch this space. Thank you again

Did you get the classic car you wanted?
