To be fair, the wording they initially use is washing your car "in the street". I took that to mean just that..by the roadside, which I can sort of understand if people are walking past on the pavement. But in your own driveway I would think it is probably easier to maintain social distancing in most cases.
But the article seems pretty loosely reported... almost tabloid-like. I expect some key points have been missed to make the story seem more sensational lol.
