Electric cars in winter: the truth about cold weather range
Interesting so your miles per kwh drop by almost half.
A 30kwh battery at 38.4p per kwh to charge it up, is £11.55 would get you 234 miles,
in the colder weather you only get 152miles at the same cost of charging.
7.5 pence per mile
Say petrol in the Kia is £30 to fill up for 280 miles. 10.7p per mile.
So at present an electric car is still slightly more cost effective even in the cold weather. Providing the cost of electric dosn't double like the media keep scaring people into thinking.
