999 Emergency Day.

Saturday 19th October 2013.

0930 - 1630.

Emergency services are being lined up for a celebratory day in a town centre.

Today was the return of the 999 Emergency Day in Fareham town centre. There were exhibitions from the ambulance service, police, fire service and the coastguard, among others.

Fareham?s pedestrian shopping area was full of operational, new and preserved ambulances, police cars, fire engines, coastguard and offshore rescue boats. There were over 30 exhibitors.

Along with the emergency vehicles there were musical performances by Swinging The Lead and The Sensational Debbie C.

Here are the photos I took from today's event: 999 Emergency Day 2013 from sarah's albums

This Fire Engine was my favourite of all the exhibitors.
It is a 1937 Leyland Fire Engine and was in service with Bristol Fire Brigade from December 1937 to 1949. It has a 8.6, 6 cylinder engine with a 4-speed gear box.
