This Throwback Thursday video features a promotional piece for the 1992 Chevrolet Corvette. This clip is far too long to have been a television commercial. Instead, this piece likely ran before the featured presentation on a VHS tape for those of us who remember VHS tapes. It may have also been a part of a longer promotional video which ran in dealerships around the country, but in any case, this clip gives us a great look at the features of the 1992 Chevrolet Corvette. The video begins by showing the original 1953 Corvette, talking about how that original Chevy sports car set the bar for American performance. Then, using what was surely amazing special effects back in 1992, the 1953 Corvette magically morphs into a 1992 Corvette.Over the course of the 3-minute video, the narrator discusses the 1992 Corvette, ranging from the "base" coupe to the high performance ZR1. The clip talks about the sporty leather seats, the cockpit-style dashboard and the "ultra sport" steering wheel. All of which help the driver to maintain control during stints of spirited driving while also keeping both the driver and passenger comfortable on a long drive.Next, this 1992 Corvette promo video goes on to talk about some features which are taken for granted in the modern era, since every car has them. However, back in 1992, it was a big deal that the Corvette had Halogen fog lights, air conditioning, electronic cruise control, power windows, power door locks, a headlights-on warning and a compact disc player connected to a Bose sound system.Oddly, while we learn all about the interior features of the 1992 Corvette, we don"t learn anything about the performance capabilities. Looking beyond that, this spot still does a great job of highlighting all of the items which put the 1992 Corvette light-years ahead of the competition.Tags: 1992, C4, c4 corvette, Corvette, throwback thursday
