Came accross this post frm another place, the guy was in Texas . Seems like a very bad design floor.
Driving down Paradise Rd and my Tesla completely shuts down this afternoon. No power steering, power breaks, no power at all. I manage to pull into a parking lot, upset that my car has just had a major malfunction. I start looking through my phone to find someone to call when I realize it’s getting hot. The A/C is no longer on. I go to roll down my window, that doesn’t work. Ok, then I’ll just open the door and get out. Door won’t open. What the f*ck? I suddenly realize I am trapped in my car and it’s getting hotter! Something so simple like opening my car door, which I have never questioned, is no longer part of my reality. Being in my car normally gives me such comfort and protection, now it is a tiny fishbowl caging me. There’s no people around. I honestly start to panic and start looking for something to smash the window with, it’s getting hotter and that doesn’t help. I really don’t want to smash my window, that’s just another car problem I don’t need. I start searching on google and chatgpt to find a way out but it’s not going fast enough. It’s 106 degrees out, how long can I last? I decide to call 911 while sweat is rolling down my brow. Fortunately the dispatcher has dealt with this before and lets me know where the secret door release handle is. It’s underneath the window control buttons.
I was so relieved when I got it opened. My first thought was, wow, that’s what a dog experiences when they are locked in a hot car, but they have no phone or thumbs or 911. They just heat up and panic hoping someone comes to their rescue.
