I read today that some think tank (or socialist busybody) reckons that the braking distances in the Highway Code are wrong!
Well Hoorah you're thinking! About time someone recognized that the modern brakes are far better than when the Highway Code was written with drum brakes being the norm and the disc setups that were out there were single piston on milk bottle top sized discs! Of course we now have discs that are bigger than the wheels were in those days on multi piston calipers with ABS and even fancy materials like carbon ceramics so we can stop much quicker.... right?
Well, apparently not. Apparently we are all idiots who take far to long to spot a hazard and react to it! Apparently all those arcade and video games I've played haven't sharpened my reactions like all the previous studies have shown!
Of course they are now advocating the braking distance is increased which translates into "let's reduce the speed limit!"
I call Bollocks!
If you see one of these inbred socialist dickheads in your area spouting off about this or similar bullshit please feel free To push them off the nearest cliff or at least castrate the twat to prevent further breeding.
