Just been searching through my "technical library" and found this that may be of interest. Historic England (English Heritage as was) previously produced the attached guidance outlining the history and development of buildings and structures associated with the development of the car and the motor trade. Thanks for posting what looks to be a fascinating read. I've had a quick scoot through and saw that it mentions the old Tricorn Centre in Portsmouth! lol
