How TF did that happen?! He must have been leaning against the door or something, surely? You normally sort of brace yourself when performing moves like that, don't you.

Weak door catch
No seat belt
Even with no door or seat belt you have the wheel to hold on, it's not a bench seat so surely thee seat is holding you in to some degree too.
Wonder how far the car went after he left the vehicle.
