After spending the past two years attending many drag races up at Santa Pod Raceway I thought I?d see what the drag strips are like in other countries, and I have to say, some of the views are amazing!!
Bahrain International Circuit.
Opening in 2004, this circuit hosts to Formula 1, GP2, Australian V8 Supercars and of course Drag Racing.
Hockenheimring, Germany.
Originally built in 1932, roads in the forest were used to race on which quickly got banned by German officials. IN 1936 it started to get used at the Mercedes-Benz test track. From 1947 the circuit was able to be raced on and now hosts Drag Racing, Formula 1, GP2, European Touring Car Championships and many more!
Rivanazzano Raceway, Italy.
This raceway is situated in Northern Italy, just south of Milan.
Vandel, Denmark.
This purpose built drag racing strip was constructed in 1995.
Fyresdel Raceway, Norway.
Built in 1978, to the west of Oslo.
Sydney Dragway, Australia.
A $30 million, purpose built raceway that opened in 2004.
Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Based in Charlotte, Carolina, USA this drag raceway opened in 2008 and the only raceway in the world to have FOUR lanes!!
