Cost of changing an EV battery.

Driver drove over something and scratch the protective cover on the batteey. So h took it into a shop to check out. They then quoted him over $60k canadian to change the battery. This is crazy. nsurance companies wont want to insure EV's. Things like this could cause the end of EV's, if you cant insure them, then you cant drive them.

The vehicle potentially written off because the battery was damaged! That's crazy! Eventually, batteries will also surely become worn out too and require replacement. Wouldn't that write off an older vehicle too?
If the batteries are that expensive, it also makes me wonder if there could end up being a black market for stolen batteries.

someone posted a recite for a battery replacement on a 8 year old car, on a Ranchero forum i use. it was about 1/2 the price of the car when new. if i can find it again i will past a link
