American electric vehicle start-up Bollinger Motors is set to join the blossoming electric van market in 2022 with the Deliver-E. The front wheel-drive panel van uses technology the firm has already debuted in its B1 SUV and B2 pick-up truck with a new body designed to cater for operators making multi-drop deliveries in urban areas or simply seeking a low emissions, low tax alternative to an internal combustion-engined van.

The Bollinger Deliver-E is a pure electric vehicle with a mix and match range of battery sizes and wheelbase options that allow it to fit a variety of US commercial vehicle classifications. The battery can be 70, 105, 140, 175 or 210 kWh in capacity, allowing buyers to adjust the range, and cost, of the vehicle. Although the platform is all-new and purpose designed for the van market, the batteries, electric motors, inverters and gearboxes are carried over from elsewhere in the Bollinger line-up.

The crucial details on the range, price and payload capacity of the van have yet to be released but we’re told there’s a low 18” floor for easy loading and a high strength steel frame with a ‘10-year durability target’ - which presumably is not the same thing as a warranty. The van will be capable of 100kW DC fast charging and will use independent front and rear suspension with hydraulic steering and brakes.

Images of the Deliver-E reveal clean, modern lines and a low ride height that will contribute to what the company suggests will be strong aerodynamic performance. The van is due to enter production in 2022.

Now take a look at the best electric vans on the market today...
