Anyone running a diesel heater in their classic during winter storage?

I'm in Columbus, Ohio, and my garage isn't heated, so I've been thinking about a diesel air heater to keep things above freezing during the coldest weeks. I came across this VEVOR 8KW Diesel Heater Review: Bluetooth Diesel Air Heater while looking at the 8kW Bluetooth parking heater options, and the remote control side appeals to me since the garage is a short walk from the house.

What I'm unsure about is whether an 8kW unit is overkill for a single-car garage and whether the Bluetooth side is actually reliable or just a gimmick. I also don't know how these behave on very cold mornings, and I'd rather not find out the hard way. Does anyone here run one, and how did you size it and route the exhaust safely? Any input from people who've used one through an Ohio winter would be welcome.

For a single-car garage in Columbus, 8kW does seem like a lot unless the space is drafty or uninsulated — I'd worry about short-cycling and fuel use more than raw output. The Bluetooth feature would be the part I'd treat with caution: fine for checking status or bumping the setpoint from the house, less so as the only control if the app drops. I'd insist on a separate thermostat or controller and put real thought into exhaust routing, since CO and soot in an attached garage are not negotiable. VEVOR 8KW Diesel Heater Review: Bluetooth Diesel Air Heater got me thinking about sizing, but I'd still want first-hand Ohio cold-start experience before committing.

Sizing is my main question too, since my detached garage in Burlington is about 12x20 and barely insulated. I'd lean toward a 5kW unit rather than 8kW for a single car, mostly to avoid short-cycling, though I'm not sure how much the cold-soak mornings here would eat into that margin. The control point matters to me as well; I wouldn't want an app as the only way to shut it down. I've been looking at the LF Bros N4 5KW Diesel Heater Review as a smaller alternative, but I still want to hear how these actually start after a single-digit night before buying.
