The Nissan GT-R is regarded to be one of the ultimate modern performance cars. It is even more so with the track edition of the car used for the purposes of this comparison. Our previous knowledge and misconceptions tell us that there?s no way in hell that a RWD muscle car could be top dog around a track, especially one with turns. The outcome of this demonstration hosted by Motor Trend shows exactly why you shouldn?t believe all that they?ve been feeding you.

Impressive stuff, should help the sales of the Z28.
Many people knock the American cars for handling, they must be thinking of old Cadillac's or something, the Trans-Am isn't too bad, certainly the best handling car I've ever own. People think american cars only go in straight lines. Well the Nuremberg ring have many bends, and didn't a Dodge viper have the best lap time for a long time, that competing against all sorts of super cars.

The Dodge Viper ACR that broke the N?rburgring Nordschleife track record Viper in 7:22.1 later year got a 7:12 according to Wiki List of N

Corvette C6 ZR1 in 7:19.
Porche 911 in 7:24.

The T/A is still a live axle with a panhard rod setup and can be improved but compared to earlier versions they are really good. People ignore the fact that the Corvette C5 and C6 were consistently kicking the backsides of Porsche and Aston at Le Mans and in the ALMS series too. Even the new Mustang is impressive around the ring. But to be honest - I like the publics opinion of our cars. Keeps the idiots out and insurance rates down!
