I"ve decided to sell my C4 1988 Z52 Auto Coupe, Black interior, Power Leather seats. Dark Metallic Red. 188100 miles on clock, Most things work! 5995

Passed last MOT with a few minor advisories, has an MOT through 25th September 2017.

UK Corvette Club member for 13 years, including a couple on the committee as treasurer, I"ve owned the car for 9 years, details below.

Unusually for a C4, it was imported as a brand new vehicle to the UK in 1988 and was never used in the US (it has export code on the build sheet) sold to it"s first owner in London who owned it for 3 years, I have the original bill of sale and trans-atlantic shipping documents, as well as period 1988 Corvette brochure with notes in the margin where the first owner was comparing against other 1988 era sports cars. I have pictures of the car in London in 1988.

After 3 years and less than 10k miles on the clock, the car was sold to a new owner who lived in Bedfordshire and used it to commute into London, he owned it for 18 years and added around 150k to the mileage.

In 2008 it was owned for around 6 months by another owner from near MK (CCCUK club member) during this time the Auto Box was rebuilt.

In September 2008 I bought it, it had 167k on the clock at the time. In the time I have owned it, I have maintained her and kept her taxed and MOT"d for the whole time, she has been garaged for the last 8 years, work done by me (not an exhaustive list) below. A lot of the common issues with C4s have been dealt with.

I have fitted American Racing Torq Thrust II wheels (the original wheels were badly kerbed and I no longer have them) The rear Tyres are Pirelli P-ZERO with plenty of tread (only covered 4k miles on these) the front tyres are fairly old Michelin Pilot sports and are down to 3mm, they will need replacing fairly soon.

Fitted Pypes stainless exhaust (true dual system with X-over) no cat, passes MOT emissions no problem.

Hard top headlining replaced so no drooping material.

Both Headlight motors/gearboxes have been rebuilt with delrin bushes so they go up and down as expected with no winking.

Digi Dash has been rebuilt by me so everything works correctly, cruise control works correctly.

I fitted a new Radiator around 2 years ago.

New power steering rack (Z52, quick lock to lock as per original spec) fitted around 3 years ago.

Rear suspension links were replaced for MOT 2 years ago.

Power seats work, remote hatch releases all work, Original Corvette ratchet for removing the Targa top is present and correct in centre console.

There are some Parts that will come with the car including a (semi working) digi dash for parts, spare MAF (part value approx 200), metal brake booster (new, one on car is sucking air a little but still ok, has passed last 2 MOT with it)

I have all the receipts and MOTs for the whole life of the Car since 1988.

This is a good usable car that is looking for a new home with someone to take care of her with new enthusiasm. She won"t win you any concourse events (though actually to my surprise did pick up a 2nd place in the Corvette Clubs of Europe event at Le Mans in 2014!) but she is fantastic fun and makes a great noise.

I have run (2 years ago) a best time of 13.96 at 98mph at Santa Pod on a run what you brung so despite her age and miles she is still running very well (those are better numbers than magazines were getting for an L98 vette when they were new!)

Bad bits, Air con doesn"t hold gas, Delco Bose amps are hissy and work intermittently, diff (Dana36) a little noisy at speed and probably needs rebuild soonish (around 500- 600 including parts), auto box is dropping fluid (a very small amount, only needs topping up once a year) paint is original and has plenty of scratches, bumps, chips and marks and the weatherstripping is original and about what you might expect for a 29yr old car with 188k on the clock
