The Chevy LSA was an absolute tower of power. It"s a 6.2-liter supercharged V8, it powered the previous Cadillac CTS-V, the Camaro ZL1, and the Blue Demon itself, the Corvette ZR-1. Now however, it has been replaced by the new LT4 V8 that now inhabits the new CTS-V and the new Z06 Corvette. Both of which are having cooling problems, which have been leading to engines grendading themselves. The LSA however, had none of these problems, and was capable of making massively inflated horsepower figures as the Texas Mile competitions have shown. While here in the U.S., we bemoan the death of the LSA engine, in Australia, as Holden prepares to shutter its doors on its in country operations, the LSA has received its final use in the best car possible. The Holden Maloo LSA.For those that don"t know the Maloo name, picture a brand new El Camino. In Australia, they call them utes, and this one makes more horsepower than the outgoing Porsche 911 Turbo. The supercharged LSA now makes 529 horsepower, and produces 495 ft-lbs of torque. It is an absolute beast. Here"s the problem though. At the current exchange rates, the Holden Maloo LSA would cost you a whopping $81,165, which if you"ve been paying attention, is just barely under the new Cadillac CTS-V, which comes with more horsepower. The upside, you wouldn"t worry about grendading your engine. So what do you think, should Chevy start importing these awesome machines. #gallery-2 { margin: auto; } #gallery-2 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-2 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-2 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
