Nissan recalling nearly 400,000 cars for brake defect that could cause fire

Nissan announced this month that they would recall more than 394,000 vehicles equipped with a faulty brake seal that could leak fluid and potentially cause a fire. Wow, how many years have they been making cars? this is a error that's been over looked, why are soo many car manufacturers recalling soo many cars. Surely these errors should not be made in the first place.
