Citroen’s updated C3 supermini is available to order in the UK now, with first deliveries expected in August. Prices start from £16,280 for entry-level Feel model and climb to £21,270 for the range-topping Flair Plus variant.

Standard equipment across the range includes LED headlamps, new 3D-effect tail lights, cruise control, a lane departure warning system and the firm’s trademark Airbump door panels. Inside, buyers get automatic air conditioning and a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Mid-range Flair models start from £17,330 and feature additional kit such as 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, automatic headlamps, rear parking sensors and a two-tone paint scheme with matching door mirror caps.

The range-topping Citroen C3 Flair Plus is priced from £18,730. Upgrades include 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, advanced comfort seats, a reversing camera, TomTom navigation software and a host of extra driver assistance systems such as active safety braking, a driver attention alert system and an automatic SOS signal.

Exterior revisions are fairly minor. There’s a new front grille, a new front bumper, fresh wheel arch extensions, slightly tweaked three-quarter panels and redesigned Airbump rubbing strips along the supermini’s sides. Buyers can also pick from two new paint finishes, four new exterior colour packs and four contrasting roof colours.

Inside, the facelifted C3 gets Citroen’s Advanced Comfort seats, which were lifted from the C4 Cactus – and there’s a new “Techwood” interior trim with faux-wood strips on the dashboard and matching stripes for the seat upholstery. Front parking sensors are also now available but, other than that, the level of on-board technology stays the same.

New 2020 Citroen C3 facelift: engines

There are no mechanical changes– the car’s Euro 6-compliant engine line-up is identical to the pre-facelift model. As such, the range kicks off with PSA’s 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, which produces 82bhp and 118Nm of torque.

Mid-range Flair models and up are available with a more potent version of the same 1.2-litre three-cylinder, which develops 109bhp and 205Nm of torque.

Buyers also have the option of a 1.6-litre four-cylinder diesel unit, which produces 99bhp and 250Nm of torque. Like the more potent petrol powertrain, it’s only available on Flair models and up – although it can only be paired with a six-speed manual gearbox.
