Why on earth would you put some much switching control control in front of a safety circuit.

So the seat doesn't detect a passenger so the passenger air-bag does not deploy. Why not just have the air bag go off even if there is no passenger. Surely that is better than going though some form of weight detection circuit to determine the size of the passenger.

Too many electronics interfering with basic safety. A silly mistake like this just goes to prove car manufacturers cant get the basics correct, and they are building cars that drive themselves!?!
