Nowadays EVs are known for being especially accelerative. It seems that every week, almost, another manufacturer you"ve never heard of (and will never hear from again) is promising that its "revolutionary" hyper-EV will hit 60mph in less time than it takes you to roll your eyes in disbelief. But just how fast are the EVs you can actually buy? The cars that already exist in dealerships, don"t cost a fortune and won"t draw the ire of other motorists? The Rimacs, Tesla Roadsters, Aspark Owls and Nio EP9s of this world are all well and good, but they"re not exactly mass market. So, here"s a ten-car snapshot of today"s pure EV market here in Britain and across the Atlantic based entirely on how quickly they accelerate. Range shmange.
