This is a 57 Belair 4 door sedan series BA with 3 speed trans built in St Louis in Jan 57.

It has the correct & original 283ci Turbo Fire motor. It has a 2-barrel carb and was listed when new as making 185 bhp.

The history file starts in 1989 with the USA Owners title which shows the transfer from a lady in Virginia USA to the UK with 60,000 miles on the clock.

On import it went to a chauffeur company in London who gave it a 1500 service & refit in 1990. After little use as a chauffeur car it then transferred to the first private keeper in the UK in 1991 who started the refurb with 67,000 miles showing......it then transferred to Mr. Wynn in 1999 who did the complete refurb over many years from 1991 to 2014.
It was sorn from 2005 to 2014.
It has only covered about 5000 miles since 1991.

Mr Wynn painstakingly stripped the car to the bare chassis, and virtually every single component of this car has been replaced with new old stock parts. The file contains invoices for many tens of thousands of Pounds, there is almost an invoice per week for well over a decade. Every single item seems to have been replaced including every nut bolt washer grommet clip rubber - electrics window & door mechanisms steering & suspension all of the interior including all dash components and gauges the radio and Kleenex holder.
It has of course had a complete refurb to all body work metal work chrome badges & trim which alone cost almost 12,000 in 2007. It has barely seen the light of day since. The gold coloured trim on the exterior is all standard for this model and is all NOS.

As well as the paper trail there are many detailed photos of the body restoration showing just how extensive the work actually was.
The restoration continued by Mr Wynn up until late 2014.

In 2016 the car has been fully serviced & set up by renowned Corvette expert & historic car technician Paul Allen including oil & filter and carburation tune to ensure smooth running and first time starting.

In the late 50 s there was no record kept of engine numbers so matching numbers claims cannot be made but the casting numbers on the block are perfect.

The engine has been fully rebuilt with a balanced crank & flywheel ( 8000 rpm and within 100g ) for smooth running, it runs like a sewing machine !....I estimate that about 90% of the parts have been replaced with new since 1991.

In order to make the car reliable, easier & safer to drive, the front brakes have been upgraded to disc brakes with servo assist and the ignition is now electronic ignition.

This car is mint with amazing attention to detail. It is outstanding .. inside outside under the bonnet and underneath. The car is close to concourse and is of show winning standard. it will withstand the most detailed inspection.
Cars this good are getting harder to find.

To carry out a restoration like this from scratch will cost well over 70,000 today. The history file is about 8 inches deep and is all in date order for inspection. There are hundreds of receipts and much technical information. There is also some advertising literature from the 50 s and a reproduction period owner s handbook.

No work is required to drive this car or to get a podium position at the shows.

The car is UK registered with a V5 and has only covered a few hundred miles since the last MOT. It is MOT exempt and Tax exempt.

I am only selling due to moving out of the Country temporarily so I don t have opportunity to use it or show it.
Please contact me on 07738 549010 to make arrangements to view.
The car is in the East Midlands.
Thanks for looking.
