Built a gate for the garden.

We had an old iron gate, it was a bit mi-shaped and although would close, in the wind it could blow open. Not with having dogs it needed to be more secure, so it was cable tied shut, which means it was a faff to do anything in the front garden. So I wanted to build a gate to match the other back gate at the end of the garden.

The gate is made from 3x2inch beams of wood with a groove cut in for the t&g to slide in to. Should last a few years. Took around 5.5hours to build the gate and 2 hours to hang it, i don't know where all the time went, everything worked with no hiccups. Had to build a jig to keep the gate square. The mitre corners and the routing probably ate into my time.

Their names is Skye and Chase. Skye is on the left in the above photo. These names were given by the previous owners. They are rescue dogs from Stubbington Ark, one is 3 years old the other is 4, not sure if they are related. They have always been together so we got them together. We have had them about 4 weeks and have settled in very well. Actually picked them up 30 mins after I got home from my trip to America.

They’re cute!!

Yep, very cute, and small bums make small poop's.

A nice greeting when I get in from work, Chase is usually quite quiet so it was great to see him running around. A short Video... Shared album - Dan Potter - Google Photo

Looks as though they’ve settled in nicely :)
