If you give any Corvette long enough, it’ll become a custom Corvette. That could mean a new set of wheels or a vented hood.This odd machine was custom from the start. Its original owner, Gordon Kelly, had a bespoke body built by Vignale to go over its 1961 Corvette engine and underpinnings. There is a certain grace and simplicity to it, but it would be a stretch to call it beautiful. Although elements of the front end bring to mind vintage Ferraris, the back end is reminiscent of the AMC Pacer.However, like beauty, all custom cars, including Corvettes, are in the eye of the beholder.
