Another recent arrival from Arizona is this simply stunning 1966 Pontiac LeMans. This has to be one of the most original unmolested cars out there, there is zero rust, no evidence of damage or repairs, and it runs and drives spot on. Even the interior is in great shape, and, once registered (in hand at the moment) you could drive this anywhere. I know as my wife happily drove 300+ trouble free miles in it on Route 66 earlier this year.

It"s an absolute peach of a car, and rare to find in this spec that hasn"t been turned into a GTO replica. It has several GTO spec parts, but these all appear to be factory fitted, so you"re getting pretty much the same car that rolled out of the showroom back in "66

So, details; the body is totally rust free, and free from any damage or repairs that we can find. All the panels appear original, and all the trim is present. The car has been resprayed from its original dark green at some point in the past, and could be improved, but the car presents very well. One small ding in the middle of the rear bumper, but this looks fixable (or replacements are available). Being picky there"s a couple of small easily fixable dings in some of the trim too, but none of this detracts from the car. All glass is in great condition, with a new windscreen recently fitted.

Chassis; again rust free. All the suspension was gone through under 1000 miles ago, and the car rides and steers beautifully. Likewise the brakes were renewed about 500 miles ago, with everything checked over and parts replaced as needed, it stops really well for such a big car. Tyres are new this year, and it rolls on "67 Pontiac steel wheels.

Drivetrain; engine decodes as a 389cui, and was reportedly subject to a full rebuild under 10,000 miles ago. From the way it ticks over I"d say it"s had a mild cam upgrade, and it pulls strong and hard in all gears, with no nasty noises, leaks, or fumes. Oil pressure is great, and it doesn"t overheat, even in Arizona"s climate! There"s some aftermarket "dress up" rocker covers and airfilter, but otherwise all appears stock.
The gearbox is a 3 speed auto, but fitted with the sought after "his & hers" console shifter (one side regular shift, other side manual drag shift. It"s a blast!). Again, it works perfectly, no leaks or noises. Rear axle is non-posi and quiet as a mouse, ratio unknown but it"s got just the right balance for stop light races and highway cruising.

Interior; in great condition with front bucket seats and rear bench, all the seats and door cards are good, as is the head liner and carpets. The dash is a factory fitted GTO spec, so comes with a rev counter, and there are some after market gauges fitted underneath, so the dash remains uncut. Everything appears to work, though the dash pad does have a split in it, as is common with sunny state cars.

All in all I honestly think this is one of the most original and straight 60"s muscle cars you"re likely to find anywhere, and with prices on the rise on both sides of the pond now is the time to buy one. Come see it in the flesh to really appreciate it, you"ll not be disappointed!

Asking price is 16,450, this includes U.K. registration (currently in hand) on an age related number. All import duties and taxes are paid, and you can drive the car home. Obviously it qualifies for free road tax, and is also MOT exempt.
For more information or to view the car call me on the details below, or call Ivor on the details below. The car is located in Hockwold, on the Norfolk/Suffolk border, IP26 postcode area.
