Dave Prowse has passed away.
He was originally known as the Green Cross Man before playing Darth Vader of course.

Did he live local. My friends mum remembers him doing a road crossing saftly talk at a local school.

He had a Bristol accent which isn't too far away.

Actually, yeah, I think he was originally from Bristol Chris.
I saw a clip yesterday showing that they were initially planning to use his own voice in the first Star Wars, but used that of James Earl Jones.

My mistake. This says that George Lucas wasn't intending to use Dave's voice. Sounds funny to hear it coming from Darth Vader lol
